The Personal Master of Arts · 2026–2027

Begin with a conversation

This takes about five minutes. There's no committee and no essay-grading — we read every application personally, and the next step is simply a conversation.

You're applying to

The Personal Master of Arts — twelve months, $4,950

Just want the seven-week World Philosophy Workshop ($695)? That's a different, much shorter application ↗

What we're listening for: a project that's genuinely yours, and readiness to give it a year. Not credentials, not a mission statement, not a polished pitch. Your personal philosophy is coursework — the World Philosophy Workshop produces it. We don't need it now.
1

The application

Ten questions, about five minutes. We read every one personally and reply within two days.

2

The conversation

An hour toward a curricular pathway that's actually yours, matched to the season you enter.

3

The contract

You write your co-creative contract from our one-page template. One optional call for support.

4

Zero week

Discord, calendar, and your contract witnessed in the circle. The year starts.

About you

Who's writing

The plain facts, so we can find you and know what hour of your day we're calling into.

We'd like to know what to call you.
Please give an address we can reply to.
City and timezone. Sessions run on Mountain Time — we want to know what we're asking of your evening. City and timezone, roughly, is plenty.
A website, a social profile, a portfolio, a Substack — anything. One link, whichever one is most you.
If one isn't enough.
The work

The work that's yours to make

The two questions that matter most. Take your time with these — they're also the first pages of your co-creative contract.

What is the work that's yours to make — the thing you'd give a year to? And why now?
Three to eight sentences, plain words. A manuscript, an album, a practice, a venture, a course, a second act. It's fine if it's still foggy — tell us about the fog.

Even a foggy answer is the right answer here.
What are one or two open questions you could live inside for a year?
Not goals — questions. The kind that get better, not smaller, the longer you carry them.
One question is enough to begin.
A person, an essay, a search, a whisper. However you arrived, we'd like to know.
The doorway

Your doorway

Three entry seasons a year. Spring is culmination season — the studio months — not an entry point.

Pick a doorway, or tell us you're not sure — both are fine.
$4,950 one-time, or $412.50/month for twelve months. Needs-based scholarships are always available, and money is never the reason we say no.
Whichever is honest today.
For the conversation

For the conversation

So the hour we spend together starts warm instead of scheduling.

Days and rough hours, in your own timezone.
Access needs, hard constraints, a name we should use.

What happens next. A personal reply within two days — two sentences responding to your project specifically, not a template. If it seems like a good fit, that reply includes scheduling for the admission conversation. Then the contract template, then your zero week.
Curious what the year actually asks of you? The requirements check sheet lays out all five degree requirements — four seasonal workshops, the weekly process, ten monthly check-ins, the culmination project, and the commencement conversation — and lets you track them once you're in.
